Salami Roses
Need some nibbles to impress but are short on time? These Salami Roses are your solution! Whip these up in minutes, serve with fresh bread, sit back with a glass of wine and a smug smile and graciously accept lots of compliments!
They really are so incredibly easy to make, are ready immediately and use easily available ingredients. Just run out to your local delicatessen or supermarket and pick up a collection of your favourite salamis, extra bits, such as fresh basil or spring onions and some fresh bread and you are good to go. Buy enough salami though – each rose takes more than you think. See the recipe below for more details.
How to make Salami Roses
Collect all your ingredients together:
- selection of thinly sliced salamis
- green bits and pieces such as fresh basil, parsley, coriander, spring onions, gherkins, olives
- fresh bread
Now make these beauties:
Collect some glasses together to make the roses – the larger the diameter of the salami, the larger the size of the glass you will need. As a rough guide, I use glasses which are around ½ – 1 cm smaller across the diameter than the salami. Also remember that the larger the glass, the more salami you will need!
- All you need to do is layer the salami over the rim of the glass. Start with one slice and build up until you cannot add any more.
- Invert the glass, remove it, and voila – a beautiful salami rose!
- Decorate!
Chorizo Rose
Ingredients 1 One slice of chorizo around rim .. .. a couple more .. .. keep adding .. .. slices until .. .. you can add no more. 2 Invert glass .. .. and remove. Voila!
