Honey Mustard Cocktail Sausages
Whatever fancy pants nibbles I serve, I can guarantee that these will be the first to go! Coated in sweet honey and grainy mustard, these sausages are bursting with flavour, utterly moreish and incredibly popular. Fabulous at the poshest cocktail party or eat with the rugby, as we did today, they are always appropriate. Wonderful throughout the year, they are also ideal at Christmas and I often make them when we are skiing, as a savoury treat when we come off the slopes.
Quick and simple, they can be partly prepared in advance; all you have to do when you are ready to eat them is 10 – 15 minutes in the oven and you are good to go!
How to make Honey Mustard Cocktail Sausages
The quantities in the recipe below are for 2 – 3 people – it is very easy to scale up and you can make for as many as you need!
Collect the ingredients together:
- cocktail sausages
- vegetable oil
- runny honey
- grainy mustard
How to make them:
- Lightly oil the baking tray. If food is prone to sticking on your tray, cover with baking parchment.
- Spread the cocktail sausages out on the baking tray and cook in a preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, remove from the oven and mix thoroughly with the honey and then the mustard. You could do this on the tray, but I find it easier to do in a mixing bowl.
- Put back in the oven and cook for a further 10 – 15 minutes or until cooked through and lightly caramelised.
- Serve hot with some cocktail sticks for easy eating!
