Salted Cinnamon and Honey Butter
Cinnamon spiced, salted butter sweetened with your favourite runny honey, this versatile butter has many different uses. For example you can use it with:
- Cinnamon, Apple and Almond Cupcakes
- Carrot Cupcakes with Coconut and Pecans
- Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
- Blueberry and Lemon Muffins
- Banana Muffins
- Banana Bread
- Hot toast
- Hot crumpets
- American pancakes
- Crepes
- Waffles
Honey or Maple Syrup?
If you prefer, you could replace the honey with maple syrup or agave syrup to sweeten the butter. I use all three sweeteners depending on what I fancy, what’s available and what I am serving it with. They are pretty much interchangeable.
Spices
Equally you can shake up the spices you use in the butter. Try replacing the cinnamon or adding to the cinnamon with:
- Pumpkin/Autumn spice
- Chai spice
- Christmas spice
- Cardamom
- Ginger
- Nutmeg
- Mixed Spice
- Cocoa
- Coffee Powder
How to make Salted Cinnamon and Honey Butter
First, collect all your ingredients together:
- unsalted butter, at room temperature
- runny honey
- cinnamon powder
- salt, ideally sea salt
It is very quick and simple:
Measure all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and beat until fully incorporated and light and fluffy.

Ingredients
- 100g unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 44g/2 tablespoons runny honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- ⅛ teaspoon fine salt, ideally sea salt (See Recipe Notes)
Instructions

Measure all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and beat until fully incorporated and light and fluffy.
Recipe Notes
Equipment:
- Electric or balloon whisk or a spoon
- Kitchen scales and measuring spoons
- Mixing bowl
Salt
Ideally use sea salt. If your sea salt is in large grains you may need to add more than ⅛ teaspoon. Add extra according to your taste.
